Another Honor Killing Shocks Iran

Following the recent honor killing of a 13 year old girl in Gilan Province by her father after she fell in love with an older man, another honor killing has shocked people in the Kerman Province. This time, Reyhaneh Ameri, a 23-year old from Kerman who worked part time jobs as coffee shop server and a model, was stabbed to death by her father in another instance of honor (male chauvinistic) killing.
Masoumeh Ebtekar, President Rouhani's Women Affairs Deputy, has indicated proper strict laws would protect girls and women from future abuse and honor killings.
