An Educated Armed Couple Seeks Vigilante Justice in Tehran by Taking Rich Hostages
There seems to be a strong correlation between the rise in the mafia-style armed operations (hostage taking, heists and robberies, assassinations) and inflation rates in Iran.
Recently, a young armed couple were arrested during an attempted hostage taking operation in the wealthy suburb of Ajoodanieh in Northern Tehran.
The young couple have two children and both have graduate (Masters) degrees. The man who masterminded the plot and was shot in the leg while trying to escape the police, claims his goal was not to get rich but "To seek vigilante justice against the corrupt minority who have become millionaires overnight, and to distribute the money among the poor."
