Ayatollah Defends Polygamy Workshop in Tehran: Some of Our Billionaires Crave for A Second Wife
Independent Aggregator of Iran-related News/Events, Kodoom.com: Following the controversy over Tehran's first Polygamy Workshop, Ayatollah Asgari of Hayat Hassani foundation in Qom, which organized the workshop, has defended the need for the workshop: "We have some 100,000 polygamous families in Iran. Do they not need scientific religious advice and instructions?"
"Many of the instructors are clergymen who are polygamous themselves. We now have some super billionaires in Iran who want a second wife. But the Westernized feminists and even Islamic reformists have made this difficult."
"We now have some 4 to 5 million divorced or virgin women in the 30 to 49 years age group who can be someone's second, third or fourth wife to meet their own financial, sexual and spiritual needs."
