Indicted German "Iraqi General" blames "Iranian" hitmen for wife's death in "Washington"!
In a most bizarre crime story, a German man accused of beating his wealthy 91-year-old German wife to death in their Washington, DC house, blames "Iranian" hitmen for the crime! as Daily Mail reports.
Albrecht Muth, a 48-year-old German citizen was married to a wealthy German woman 43 years older than him! They hosted dinner parties for notable Washingtonians in in their fancy home in Georgetown, a chic neighborhood of Washington, DC. But Albrecht was accused of beating ans stabbing the rich wife to death in August 2011. He is now claiming that he was indeed a former general in the Iraqi army, and his wife was killed by "Iranian" hitmen.
Muth's hunger strike and starvation, which he claims is for religious reasons, has been the biggest roadblock in the strange case. Muth has dropped about 30 pounds in the hospital since his fast began and his organs are failing. Frustrated prosecutors say Muth is orchestrating his own unavailability and thwarting their efforts to hold him accountable. Muth's behavior has defied an easy solution: His presence in the courtroom could harm his health and disrupt the proceedings, but his absence could set up an appeal on grounds that the trial was improperly held.
Prosecutors say Muth had no connection to the Iraqi army. Muth's "serious" hunger strike, however, makes observers wonder about "underlying" stories in this case or doubt Muth's sanity.
