Iranian Government on Defense After Girl Burns Herself to Protest Mandatory Hijab and Prison Term

Suicide rates among young and middle aged Iranians, particularly women, have been on the rise. Tehran subway, residential towers, and bridges such as Tabeat (Nature) bridge have witnessed numerous jump-to-death style suicides. Protesting mandatory Hijab has also been on the rise by Iranian women, including a group named "Daughters of Revolution Street," and even the daughter of former president Rafsanjani, a founder of Iran's Islamic Revolution (news link). But the recent death by self immolation (burning) of Sahar Khodayari, the girl who protested mandatory Hijab right in front of the Islamic Judicial Court, has put Iranian government on defense.
Millions of Iranians have shared the news and since then at least another girl has jumped to her death to protestg mandatory Hijab. Initially, the death of Sahar was linked to protesting the ban on women in Stadiums. But today, the Judiciary linked Sahar's death and arrest warrant to improper Hijab (head cover) and immodesty in public.
The Soft Defense Chief expressed sadness but blamed the "Anti-revolutionaries" on exaggerating the news!
The Communications Minister and Rouhani's Women's Affairs Deputy promised investigation into the death. Parvaneh Salahshoori, the outspoken female MP stated: Sahar burnt herself in a country that men violate women's basic human rights!
Iran's Judiciary and conservative radicals have been on defense. They have interviewed Sahar's father who has pledged allegiance to the regime and believes women have no need to watch men's sports in stadiums.
Separately, Saba Kamali, a well known actress was arrested on charges of insulting the prophet's family after complaining, in an imaginary conversation, to Shia Imam Hussein about Sahar and women's rights in Iran.
