Obama's website in Iran? Mohsen Namjoo for Israel?
Internet is an amazing world. I recently came across Barack Obama's website domain in Iran (www.barackobama.ir). At first, it seemed very official. After all it is an official name domain. I thought they are promoting him for the next U.S. Presidential elections. But browing the website proved me wrong. The site has a "headless" image of Obama, looking down and bashful. The site asserts it is put together by a few Iranian journalists and writers who "think and write on the United States of America, American people, American government, and every other matter available" to them. But given Iran's censorship rules, it is not surprising to see these journalists only write about the "evil" America does and nothing about anything "good" in America.
It was also interestig this week to to see Mohsen Namjoo, popular Iranian new-age singer in exile, promote an Israel page on Facebook. It is unknown whether Namjoo has been paid for the use of his image or not, but this will sure cause reactions among Namjoo's fans as well as his adversaries - especially those in the Iranian government - because Namjoo, despite his opposition to Iranian government, had not yet taken a pro-Israeli stance.
