In Pictures: Women's Cycling Tournament in Iran

Pictures show the competition in youth division of Iranian Women's Cycling Premier League held at Tehran's Azadi stadium:
Recently a fearless young Iranian woman cyclist in the town of Najafabad caused outrage among conservative clerics after snubbing the country's strict laws by riding her bike without a veil (Hijab or head dress) in front of town's main mosque. Najafabad mayor has reported that the cyclist is arrested along anyone who has filmed her and published it on social media.
Despite great international accomplishments, female Iranian cyclists face challenges from conservative muslim clerics. Recently, the Morality Police and Vice Squad in the city of Shandiz, a suburb of holy city of Mashhad, issued an order banning women from cycling in public even if they wear proper Islamic hijab and cover. Pressured by powerful clerics, Morality Police has banned female cycling in several other Iranian cities. Iranian women often defy these restrictions.
