Iran hosts first Tehran International Marathon
Independent aggregator of Iran-related News/Events, Kodoom.com: In what could be a sign of opening its door to the world, Iran will host the first Tehran International Marathon this week (Event Link). Iranian news media report some 28 American runners are among the participants. Despite the recent visa ban imposed by Trump on Iranian citizens, Iranian authorities are not expected to retaliate against the American athletes (marathoners).
TehRUN 2017, a continuation of I run Iran, is organized in 10K, 21K, 42K and Kid Run4Fun 1 K by a Dutch travel tour operator. Men are allowed to run in shorts but it is unclear if women can participate in TehRUN 2017. In last year's Shiraz Marathon, women were allowed to watch male runners.
