Iran's Chess Prodigy Wins Silver at World Blitz Chess Championships (Video)
Independent Aggregator of Iran-related News/Events, Kodoom.com: Iran's female chess prodigy, Sarasadat Khademalsharieh, has won the silver medal in World Blitz Chess Championships with 13 points, passing Lei Tingjie of China who won bronze with 12.5 points. Kateryna Lagno (Russia) won the Women's the gold with 13.5 points.
The King Salman World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships ended in the Manege, St. Petersburg, Russia, on December 30.
Sarasadat Khademalsharieh, also known as Sara Khadem, is an Iranian chess player holding the titles of International Master (IM) and Woman Grandmaster (WGM), with a current FIDE rating of 2468. She won the Asian Under-12 Girls Championship in 2008, the World Under-12 Girls Championship in 2009, the Asian Under-16 Girls Blitz Championship in 2012, and the World U16 Girls Blitz Championship in 2013. In 2014, she finished runner-up in the World Junior Girls Championship. Khademalsharieh played for the Iranian team at the Women's Chess Olympiads of 2012, 2014 and 2016.
