After 8 rounds, Khademalsharieh currently enjoys world's top standing with 5 points.
In the 7th round of the finals Sarasadat Khademalsharieh who won against Natalija Pogonina (2492, Russia). In the game, a rare line of the Catalan Opening was discussed, where the queens were exchanged quite early. In the middlegame Pogonina had a certain advantage but some imprecise moves led to an equal rook-and-knight endgame.
