Iranian Dutch football star denied US visa, Calls Trump an idiot
Independent Aggregator of Iran-related News/Events, Kodoom.com: Popular Iranian National Football Team star, Reza Ghoochannejhad, was recently denied a travel visa to the United States despite his dual Citizen Iranian-American wife who grew up in Washington, DC.
Ghoochannejhad, who moved to the Netherlands as a refugee child with his family, is now second in the Eredivisie scoring charts with SC Heerenveen. He had plans to visit his relatives in America when his visa application was denied: "If there is an idiot in power in the US, you can not change that!" Reza says with discontent referring to Trump's visa ban for Iranians and citizens of several other Muslim countries.
The solution: The US will be deprived of the wealthy Ghoocha Nejhad's tourism dollars and he will be instead visited at home (Leeuwarden, The Netherlands) by his in-laws, who will spend US dollars in Euro zone, thanks to Trump's visa ban.
Iran have been Asia's top-ranked side for four years, and are well on course for a fifth World Cup appearance in 2018. "Team Melli," as Iran are known, also have an increasing number of attacking players active in Europe.
