Iranian Girls Win World Taekwondo Junior Championship
Independent Source of Persian News/Events, Kodoom.com: Iranian girls defeat China, Russia, Turkeyand S. Korea to win the Championship title in World Taekwondo Junior Championship games in Burnaby, Canada, with two golds and two bronzes. Iran's boys team won a gold, a silver and a bronze and ranked fourth in overall scores.
Mobina Nejad, Iranian Female Athlete in 42 Kg weight, won an unprecedented Gold medal, without losing a single point, after straight victories over rivals from Mexico, The Philippines, Korea, Spain and Russia.
In 46 Kg weight group, Setareh Chaboki, forfeited a medal following Iran's official policy to refuse facing Israeli athletes in protest of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian land.
