Madadi defeats American UFC fighter: In Persian Music (Videos/Pictures)!
No one will ever question Reza Madadi’s resilience. Nearly finished by a first-round head kick, Madadi stormed back to defeat a tough American opponent, Michael Johnson in UFC on FUEL 9 at Stokholm's Ericsson Globe on April 6. The Iranian-born Reza Madadi, known in Sweden as Reza "Mad Dog" Madadi, is perhaps the most popular mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter in Sweden.
In this week's UFC matches, Reza entered the arena with Persian music (video above) and in "Iranian flag" shorts (pictures below), as he often does.
Many believe Reza is a natural fighter given his rough life and rise to fame. He has been stabbed and shot in real life during his early years as a struggling immigrant in Sweden. But years of hard work and dedication have paid off. His record is now 13 wins and only 3 losses, making him one of the most successful MMA fighters in the world. Off-the-arena, Madadi is known for his humility, meditation, and selfless devotion to people who need him.
