World Cup by Market Values: Spain at 24 Times Iran, Saudi Arabia at Half?!

According to Transfer Markt, teams in Group B all have higher market values than Iranian team: Spain valued at £892 million, Portugal at £438 million, Morocco at £131 million, compared to a market value of £41 million for Iran. The contracts for the highest valued Iranian footballers, Sardar Azmoon, at £8 million, and Alireza Jahanbakhsh at £7 million, are dwarfed by the contracts of the likes Portugal's Ronaldo at £108 million, or Spain's Isco at £67 million.
Overall, France and Panama with £960 million and £1 million market values, respectively, are the highest and lowest valued teams attending World Cup 2018 in Russia. Costa Rica, Peru, Iceland, Saudi Arabia and Panama have market values less than Iran's.
Interestingly, the team from the impoverished country of Senegal is valued at £276 million, thanks to the lucrative contracts of (almost) the entire team playing abroad in professional leagues, whereas the team from the wealthy country of Saudi Arabia is worth only £19 million because only one or two of its footballers play abroad in high paying professional leagues. Next to Panama with zero percent, England with only 4% of its footballers playing abroad is the most cohesive team in the World Cup.
