British Iranians Sogand Shaker and Ida Morassaei run for Youth Parliament
Many UK residents of Iranian heritage are proud and excited to hear about Sogand Shaker and Ida Morassaei running as representatives for London Borough of Barnet on the UKYP (UK Youth Parliament).
Shaker (her page linked here), is an A-level student at Dame Alice Owen's school, aspiring to become a lawyer. Her three main goals are to increase youth voice at local level (local council), Connect local businesses with schools to encourage them to employ young people, and Improve the image of young people in the media.
Morassaei (page linked here), loves sports, music and culture. She loves comedians and stand ups such as Omid Djalili, Shappy Khorsandi, Michael McIntyre and Max Amini. Her three main goals are raising awareness about drugs/gambling/smoking, fighting crimes, and teach more of world history and cultures in UK. (We have no image of Ms. Morassaei).
For ages 11-18, Elections are from 30 January to 5pm on the 10 February. In order to be able to vote in this election you will need a Unique Voting Code. Voting codes will be distributed throughout Schools and Youth Centres in the Borough in the weeks leading up to the election. On receipt of your code you will then need to visit www.mi-vote.com, enter the code and vote. Please note that you can only use the code once.
