Infidelity and Rage? Iranian American Arrested for Murdering Tech Executive
Nima Momeni, an Iranian-American IT consultant is accused of murdering Bob Lee, a renowned wealthy Tech executive and founder of CashApp. The motive appears to be linked to a seductive affair between Nima's sister and Bob Lee.
Momeni may have met Lee through his sister, Khazar Momeni, pictured here with her wealthy husband, Dr. Dino Elyassnia, a prominent San Francisco plastic surgeon (also of Iranian ancestry). An unnamed witness who said he'd been friends with Bob for 10 years told police that he believed Lee and Khazar were having an intimate relationship and that her marriage might have been in 'jeopardy.'
Prosecutors have claimed Nima Momeni stabbed Bob Lee in the heart after grilling him over his relationship with his married sister, with whom the Cash App founder exchanged intimate text messages. Hours before his murder, Nima had grilled Lee about his relationship with Khazar, demanding to know whether she'd been 'doing drugs' or anything 'inappropriate' while spending time with him.
In a text message to Lee earlier in the day, Khazar had gushed: Just wanted to make sure your doing OK because I know Nima came wayyy down hard on you and thank you for being such a classy man handling it with class...Love you Selfish pr***s.
Both Lee (right in the picture below) and Khazar lived in Mill Valley, an exclusive San Francisco suburb, before Lee moved to Miami in October last year.
Apparently Momeni (left in the picture) was Zoroastrian. He was probably a child of divorce and came to the US from Iran with his mother and sister. He was an entrepreneur who worked late nights and liked boats, cars, women, knives and guns.
Nima Momeni appeared in court for the first time on Friday after the case sparked a furious debate about public safety in San Francisco. He was wearing an orange sweatshirt and sweatpants as his sister and another woman held up their hands in the shape of a heart as the suspect smiled at them.
“The facts will come out, what’s basically in the press is inaccurate,” Momeni’s stand-in lawyer told the press.
