1 Million hits for new video by popular Iranian rapper in Germany: FARD
The viral video MADAR (means MOTHER in Persian) from Iranian-German hip hop artist (rapper) FARD has received nearly 1 million hits on Youtube in about two weeks after its release. MADAR is performed in Persian and German and is from FARD's third album BELLUM & PAX.
In Persian FARD means "individual." The 29-year old FARD (a.k.a. F. Nazizi, with Persian birth name Farhad Nazarinejad) who is from an Iranian immigrant family is greatly popular among young immigrants in Germany. FARD's songs challenge the concept of "integrieren" (integration) as possibly a stressful way to force different people to FIT into a different mold. FARD is renowned for tackling issues such as poverty, xenophobia, and cultural differences.
Growing up in the North-Rhine Westphalia city of Gladbeck, he began developing his MC skills at age ten and, after competing in various rap battles as a teenager, released his first mix tape, Blut, Schweiss, Tranen & Triumph, in 2006. In 2010, he teamed up with the likes of Kollegah, Summer Cem, and Farid Bang to record his debut solo album, Alter Ego. A year later he starred in German charts for the first time with his sophomore album, Invictus.
