Bassem Youssef Uncensored: The Plight of Palestinians
After his last groundbreaking interview on the Israel-Hamas war, Egyptian comedian Bassem Youssef returns to Piers Morgan Uncensored - this time face-to-face with Piers Morgan to further discuss the conflict happening in the Middle East. In this intimate and frank interview (with nearly 12 million views so far), Bassem challenges Piers about his understanding of the Israel-Palestine conflict:
Youssef practiced as a cardiothoracic surgeon in Egypt for 13 years, until his move into comedy and political satire. Youssef assisted the wounded in Tahrir Square during the Egyptian revolution. Youssef has credited surgery for making him "a much harder working person, a nerd, a perfectionist." In 2013, Youssef was named as one of the "100 most influential people in the world" by Time magazine.
Youssef will be performing soon in Boston and several other cities. His own favorite comedian is George Carlin.
The heart surgeon-turned-comedian, Youssef shares the view of his American friend Jon Stewart (well known comedian who is Jewish) that opposing Zionism (a radical race-based movement) is not the same as being anti-Semitic.
