Farhad Mehrad: A gifted revolutionary dedicated to Iranian people and freedom
Farhad Mehrad, born 1944 in Iran to a wealthy family, was a legendary Persian blues singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist and icon who also studied music in London and masterfully performed songs in English by Ray Charles. He often sang in solidarity with the ordinary and oppressed people, and in defense of freedom. He has produced some of Iran's most favorite "blues" and political songs. He was harassed before and after the 1979 Iranian revolution. He died of Hepatitis in 2002 and is buried in France. To this day he is considered one of the most influential, revolutionary, gifted and respected Iranian artists of all time.
