Italian Cinematographer of La Grande Bellezza and Kiarostami's Certified Copy to Visit Tehran
Independent Aggregator of News/Events, Kodoom.com: Luca Bigazzi is scheduled to visit Tehran as part of Fajr International Film Festival. Bigazzi is known internationally as the award winning cinematographer of some of the world's greatest movies such as La Grande Belleza (The Great Beauty), winner of 2014 Oscar, Golden Globe and the BAFTA award in the Best Foreign Language Film category. Among Iranians and Persian speakers, Bigazzi in known for Certified Copy (French: Copie conforme, Italian: Copia conforme), a 2010 art film by the late Iranian writer and director Abbas Kiarostami, starring Juliette Binoche and the British opera singer William Shimell.
For her role at Certified Copy, Binoche received the Best Actress Award at the Cannes 2010. The actress used her acceptance speech to bring attention to the Iranian director Jafar Panahi. Panahi had been set to be in the festival's jury, but was held imprisoned by the Iranian regime during the event.
