Depressed Iranian-German teenager behind mass shooting in Munich
The Telegraph: The 18-year-old German-Iranian man who opened fire in a crowded Munich shopping mall and a nearby McDonald's, killing nine people and wounding 16 others before killing himself, has been named in reports as Ali Sonboly who used a fake Facebook account to lure young victims to their death with fraudulent offers of free food just hours before his murderous rampage began.
Sonboly was reportedly depressed and receiving psychiatric treatment. Police believes he was inspired not by ISIL but by the far-right Norwegian terrorist Anders Breivik. The gunman lived with his parents in a fifth floor apartment in a smart modern apartment building in the central Moaxvorstadt neighbourhood of Munich, close to the main railway station. Neighbors said Ali was shy and kept himself to himself.
