A central command council in Iran to define "good and evil" in the society for punishment and reward purposes
Yesterday, 103 members of the Iranian Parliament sponsored the "Demand Good, Forbid Evil" Bill, which authorizes and funds a Central "Demand Good, Forbid Evil" Command Council that will be in charge of policy making and implementation, and will decide on what is considered "good" (rewarded) and what is considered "evil" (punished) in the society, in all areas of family, business, security and political matters. The Council comprises of deputies assigned by the Iranian leader (Ayatollah Khamenei), Iranian president (Ahmadinejad), Parliament, State-run TV, etc.
In recent weeks, the parliament and the Ahmadinejad government have tried to form alliances with with fundamentalists who demand strict observance and interpretation of Islamic dress and behavior codes.
