Father of Iranian prosecutor involved in Kahrizak prison kidnapped
FardaNews: The father of Aliakbar Heydarifard, a former Iranian prosecutor who was recently charged in relation to last year's torture and death in notorious Kahrizak prison, was kidnapped by three armed men from Shiraz, then beaten and dropped in front of the former prosecutor's house in Tehran.
Last year, a 26-year-old Iranian military doctor, Ramin Pourandarjani, who worked at Kahrizak prison, was found dead in the dormitory of the military hospital where he worked. After conflicting explanations about the cause of death, coroners declared that he had died of poisoning. His parents told journalists abroad that he had been killed for speaking out to officials about Kahrizak and cooperating with the investigation against others at the facility. To this date, however, despite sorrow expressed by Iranian leader over torture and death in Kahrizak prison, no senior official has been sentenced or convicted in relation to the scandal yet.
