Iran's Revolutionary Corps naval command to move to Bandar Abbas on Persian Gulf
Ali Fadavi the commander of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy announced yesterday that the Command Center for this force will move from Tehran to Bandar Abbas, a major Iranian port on Persian Gulf. Fadavi indicated that "Persian Gulf is a vital area for Americans and we can choke it anytime and to any degree we desire." Referring to any inspection of Iran-bound vessels to enforce the United Nations resolution, Fadavi said: "Americans and allies will not dare any actions ... any actions against Iranian ships will receive specific and proper response."
Despite the harsh rhetoric by Fadavi, Iran seems to be avoiding any confrontations with the West. For example, yesterday it was announced that in order to avoid a confrontation with Israeli, Iran will not send a ship carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza as it had planned to do. Earlier, Revolutionary Guards Corps had warned Israel not to interfere with the mission of this ship.
