Iranian news agency website hacked

June 15, 2009

news.kodoom.com, June 15, 2009, 6 AM, GMT: Websites belonging to Iranian government or funded by supporters of President Ahmadinejad have been attacked by a group of hackers who call themselves Iranian Internet freedom fighters. This is unprecedented and seems to be in retaliation of filtering and blocking of most reformist websites in Iran by Ahmadinejad government after the disputed Presidential election. Reformists allege fraud in election and call the move by Ahmadinejad a coup, and have been protesting since Friday. The Websites hacked include Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Fars News, Kayhan, and Ahmadinejad's own blog and website.
