Obama's new strategy with Russia is paying dividends on Iran

The recent decision by Obama Administration to suspend the strategic missile defense program in Eastern Europe has apparently prompted Russia to distance itself from Iran's nuclear programs. Russia's recent decision not to invite Iran to a Caspian Sea summit has also angered Tehran. Given the new US strategy and Russia's change of direction, and Iran's internal post-election turmoil and massive dissent by reformists, Iran is expected to enter the upcoming negotiations over its nuclear programs from a weak position.
