Political prisoner claims he was "violated" inside Iranian prison
Abdolreza Tajik, an Iranian journalist who was arrested on June 12 (on the anniversary of the contested presidential election), has told his family that his dignity was "violated" on the evening of his arrest by interrogators, and in the presence of Iran's Deputy Attorney General. His family is not willing to elaborate on what the "violation of dignity" means but has requested a meeting with the Head of Iranian Judiciary and Attorney General.
News sources inside Iran also report of a 9.5-year prison sentence for Bahareh Hedayat, a university student who is accused of interviews with foreign media, insulting the leader and insulting the president. Other prison sentences announced this week for political prisoners: 4 years for Ali Malihi, student and journalist; 7 years for Milad Asadi, university student activist; 2 years for Mahdieh Golroo, university student (pictured here, whose husband is also arrested); 4 year for Amir khosro Dalirsani, an activist who was investigating mafia-style round up of political dissidents by pro-Ahmadinejad militia. Meanwhile, Mohsen Armin, a former congressman and a political activist leader was freed on a $200000 bail.
