Son of former Iranian Chief of Intelligence arrested in demonstrations

Iranian news sources report that Hassan Younesi, son of Ali Younesi, former Chief of Intelligence under President Khatami, was arrested by intelligence officers on Sunday during anti-government "green" rally in Tehran, on charges of staging and leading protests.

Iranian news sources have confirmed that children of many current and former government officials are among the mostly young reform-minded demonstrators. Also on Sunday, Faezeh Hashemi, daughter of Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, a founding father of Iranian revolution was arrested in the rally, but released later.
