Iranian news services report fire and explosion in 3 Iraqi oil tankers near City of Mahabad. The tankers were in transit to Afghanistan. No more details are provided about the recipients of the fuel supply in Afghanistan. The tanker incident in Iran comes shortly after attacks on NATO fuel tankers on their way to Afghanistan from Pakistan.

Mahabad is in the Kurdish region of Iran, and home to some Kurdish rebels and dissidents.
