ACE is your key to success in American Business

Many business coaches in America believe ACE is the key to success in any business or personal endeavor:

A: Attitude: This is hard to translate to a single Persian word (maybe "tarz-e Barkhord-e fekri ba masaele zendegi"). It has to do with our perspective and outlook of life and our way of thinking. Someone with a negative attitude usually looks for the worst in people or situations, and looks for reasons NOT TO do something or be discouraged. sorry for himself and blames "others" for all problems he encounters in business or life. On the other hand, someone with a positive and responsible attitude, accepts responsibility for what happens and tries to look for solutions, and the best in people and situations that can help him/her to solve a problem, as opposed to "Dwell" in self-pity and blame of everyone and everything else.  Attitude is a combination of thoughts and our behavior/actions that result from those thoughts. I believe we, Iranians have to really watch negative, victim, self-pity, critical ("Enteghadi"), attitudes.

C: Character: This is about integrity of a person and his/her trustworthiness. People with flawed characters may steal from their work or from you, may sneak out ("Jeem shodan") during work hours, may lie to others or constantly backbite ("Gheibat kardan'") others, or be devious ("Khalaf"), etc. People with strong characters are upfront, decisive, respectful, trustworthy and straight. You can count on their words and promises. They respect project deadlines and timelines. Good character leads to charisma ("jazabeh").

E: Enthusiasm: Having energy to get things done often results from a positive attitude. Enthusiastic people are go-getters and doers. Instead of complaining, they motivate others to push things along. They seem happy and tireless ("khastesgi napazir"). They love their jobs regardless of what it is. Enthusiasm is often contagious ("Mosri'). Do you know many Iranians ("Hamvatans") who have the right ACE to success in business? If you do, send them to Kodoom. We only hire those types.
