Taste Suburban American Life in "American Beauty"
America has many faces, depending on where you live. There is rural America, farmlands, inner cities, working-class neighborhoods, metropolitan areas (like New York and Los Angeles) and suburban America, which hosts most affluent professionals. If you want a critical ("enteghadi") flavor of suburban American life, you have to watch "American Beauty," [Rated R for nudity and adult content] a 1999 film starring Kevin Spacey and Annette Bening, and winner of five academy awards (Oscars) including Best Picture. Kevin Spacey's performance here is one of my most favorite acting examples.
