Humorous interview by Newsweek correspondent Maziar Bahari after his release from Iranian prison
Nearly a year after his detention in Iran's notorious Evin prison, Newsweek correspondent Maziar Bahari talks satirically to Terry Gross of National Public Radio (NPR)'s Fresh Air, about his interrogators inside prison and their naivete about world affairs, America, Facebook, etc. For example, his interrogators accused him of working for four different intelligence agencies: the CIA, Mossad, MI6 and Newsweek! Intelligence Officers in Iran also suspected that Anton Chekhov, 19th Century Russian playwright, was a Zionist and hence a role model for Bahari!
He tells Terry Gross, that in fact one thing he did hide from the interrogators was that thinking about songs and lyrics by Leonard Cohen (Jewish Canadian singer songwriter) helped him endure his daily torture sessions at Evin. The audio file is included here (courtesy of NPR's Fresh Air):
