American Basketball Player Helps Iranian Team Win Championship Title

American Professional basketball player, Parish Perry Petty, who helped Iran's professional basketball team Shahrdari Gorgan to win the championship title in Iran's Basketball Super League is now a local and national star among Iranian basketball fans.
With 0.3 seconds left on the shot clock, Perry's 3 pointer in game 4 of the playoffs helped Gorgan to beat their rivals 113-110 and claim the national title.
In the U.S., Petty, a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, played college basketball for Allen Community College, Santa Clara University and University of Texas–Pan American. Prior to joining the Iranian team, Petty had briefly joined Faros Larissas of the Greek Basket League.
In some areas of Iran, Basketball and volleyball are now as popular as football (soccer).
